Our story began in Brainerd, MN late October, 1998.
At the time, I was nannying in Bloomington, MN and Nick was living at home with his parents in Andover, MN. Nick and I knew of eachother but were mere aquaintances. Nick is my best friend's cousin. Katie had introduced us a year prior but neither of us didn't think anything of it.
One year later, we found ourselves in Brainerd, spending the weekend with family and friends. Little did we know that this time, sparks would fly. We were completely drawn to eachother and felt as if we had been forever friends. Before I left that weekend to drive back home to nanny, I kissed my mom and whispered I was going to marry the guy standing by the door next to Katie.
Who knew that only two months later, Nick would be proposing in my mom's house in front of a handful of people on New Years Day at 12:45am. TWO months and Nick had a ring on my finger. FOUR months and 8 days later, Nick had a ring on his finger.
Apparently some Sloth's don't move slow and Nick's pursuit of me brought us united in six months time. We were married May 8th, 1999. I was still 18 years old and Nick had just turned 19 the day before.
We were babies up at the alter and it made a lot of people question our decision to marry so young and so quickly. However, we knew it was God that brought us together and it was His will for us to get married when we did. We didn't question, we just listened and obeyed. Today, we are still listening, and still choosing to obey.
